Originally from Plymouth, MA, Josh Begley began cooking at a young age, learning the ropes from his mother. He went on to pursue this passion at the acclaimed Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, where he met (and was roommates with) now Indigo Road Culinary Director of Italian Concepts, Chef Mark Bolchoz. In 2021, Begley and Bolchoz reunited when he joined the team at Indaco in Charleston, SC as Sous Chef after spending over five years working in other kitchens around the Lowcountry, including The Indigo Road Hospitality Group’s modern Japanese concept O-Ku and Coastal Provisions at the Wild Dunes Resort on Isle of Palms.
Quickly proving his skill and ability to lead, Begley was promoted to Chef de Cuisine just months later, followed by another promotion to Executive Chef. In 2022, Begley was tapped to lead Indaco’s expansion into the Upstate and serves as the Executive Chef at forthcoming Indaco Greenville. Here, he places an emphasis on collaboration and creativity amongst his team to provide inspired cuisine to the local community for brunch, lunch, and dinner.
When Begley is not in the kitchen, he can be found spending time with his wife, son, and newborn daughter, exploring local parks, or going for a long run.
